4h aaron 400Aaren Schertler a Senior home school 4-H’er took first place in the Companion Animal Science project at State 4-H Congress in Atlanta on July 27th. Aaren began the competition in January where he submitted a portfolio or resume that included all of his leadership and project work in the Companion Animal Science project area. In March, Aaren competed at Northwest District 4- H Project Achievement where he gave a 10 minute demonstration on keeping leopard geckos as pets. At the district competition, he placed first and earned a trip to State 4-H Congress this summer. By placing first at the state level, Aaren earned Master 4-H status which is a top honor in Georgia 4-H. He also earned a trip to National 4-H Congress which will be held this fall in Atlanta.
