Deserving GA Interscholastic Cycling League Athletes Get New Bikes Thanks to Dave Krache Foundation and Cycology Bike Shop of Hiram

Georgia Interscholastic Cycling League (GA League) middle schoolers, Seth Barker and quadruplet sisters, Aset, Selket, Neith and Nebthet Reid-el, have all been riding the practice trails this summer on bikes loaned to them as part of the GA League Bike Loaner Program. Now, thanks to the generosity of the Dave Krache Foundation (DKF) in Kennesaw and Cycology Bike Shop in Hiram, these deserving student-athletes will be practicing and racing on bikes of their own for the 2016 GA League fall season!dave 1 800The five middle schoolers, along with coaches, parents, and other teammates from the Old Capital Youth Racing Team in Milledgeville, traveled to Hiram this past Saturday, August 27th, to receive their brand new Specialized bikes from Donna Krache and Allison Krache Giddens of the Dave Krache Foundation and Mike Harris of Cycology Bike Shop. Dan Brooks, Founder and Executive Director of the GA League, was also on hand to congratulate the student-athletes and thank the Dave Krache Foundation and Cycology Bike Shop for their generous donation. The bike donations were made possible through funds raised at the Cycology Bike Shop/Dave Krache Foundation Third Annual Silver Comet Trail Bike Ride, held this past Memorial Day weekend. The bike ride is just one of four events the DKF holds each year to raise funds to help local kids in need play in their community league sports.

“Five fantastic kids received bikes today, as a result of the proceeds raised, said Allison Krache Giddens! We loved seeing their smiles as they were each given their bikes and we applaud their hard work and commitment to cycling. Loaner bikes were turned in and these kids have incredible new bikes to call their own! To all those who participated in riding, volunteering, and sponsoring the ride this year: THANK YOU for helping to make this possible!”

The GA League 2016 season begins on Sunday, September 11th at the Georgia International Horse Park in Conyers. The remaining races will be being held throughout the state of Georgia in September and October, with Championships being held in November at a new venue, Dauset Trails, in Jackson, Georgia.
