City of Dallas recognized the retirement of Sgt. Butterworth along with his long-time Police K-9, Ruger.

Dallas Butterworth589On Monday, March 06, 2017, the City of Dallas recognized the retirement of Sgt. Butterworth along with his long-time Police K-9, Ruger.

Sgt. Butterworth, a ten-year veteran of the force, started the agency’s first K-9 Team in 2009, with his partner Ruger, a multi-use Sable Sheppard. Before arriving in Dallas to serve as a city police K-9, Ruger was trained in western Pennsylvania where he had been imported to from the Czech Republic. During their tenure, they have participated in drug detection and arrests, apprehension of suspects and searches of missing persons.

The City of Dallas recognizes and appreciates all of Sgt. Butterworth and Ruger’s many years of dedicated service and wishes them a long and happy retirement.
