(Hiram, Georgia)—Republican State Representative Paulette Rakestraw formally qualified at the state capitol today for re-election to House District 19.
“Our district deserves a legislator who has a proven effective and conservative record for our district,” said Rep. Rakestraw. “By serving on some of the most influential House committees, I have been able to successfully advocate on the behalf of our community. I have led to cut more than $860 million in taxes for Georgians over 10 years, and led on the effort to eliminate the “birthday” ad valorem tax on cars. I supported major tax relief legislation to cut taxes by $5 Billion over the next five years. I look forward to continuing to fight tax increases and protect our homeowners.”
Rep. Rakestraw serves as the Vice Chairman of Special Rules and the Science and Technology committees. She also serves on the Appropriations, Economic Development & Tourism, Juvenile Justice, Regulated Industries, and Small Business Development committees.
