Paulding County 4-H Is Proud to Recognize Excellence in 4-H Forestry Judging! The Paulding County 4-H Forestry Judging team competed in September in the Northwest District Forestry Judging Competition in Conyers, Georgia. The team consisted of Junior and Senior 4-H’ers who spent the summer preparing for the competition. Forestry Field Day is a competitive Judging Contest where 4-Hers learn about one of Georgia's most valuable resources. Participants learn to identify trees, insects, and diseases. They also participate in compass and pacing activities and learn how to complete saw timber volume estimations. Forestry Field Day provides an opportunity for youth to gain a better appreciation for our local forest resources and how they contribute to our economy and quality of life. The Paulding County 4-H Junior Team, Caleb Cooper Mardell Davis, Anna Jones, and Severi Rollman were the 3rd Place Junior Team.
