Paulding Fine Arts is proud to announce the winner of the People's Choice Award for the 2015 Juried Art Show. The Paulding Fine Arts Association meets the 4th Tuesday of each month at 7:00pm in the Courtroom Gallery located on the 2nd floor of the OLD Paulding County Courthouse at 11 Courthouse Square in Downtown Dallas GA.

During last week’s work session Hiram City Council members prepared for the regular meeting scheduled for November 10th. Two public hearings are also scheduled on that date. Chris Pike provided an overview of the proposed amendment to Chapter 12.

Paulding County, GA Sheriff Gary Gulledge announces the 2015 Paulding County Sheriff’s Office Cops for Kids Christmas shopping event requirements and important dates. Cops for Kids is in its 17th year and takes underprivileged children who live in Paulding County and pairs them with a Deputy to go shopping at Christmas. This year’s event will take place Saturday December 12, 2015 at 7:00 am at the Wal-Mart on Marietta Highway.

Paulding Juvenile Court Judge Sandra Miller administers the oath to the first group of volunteers last week at the historic courthouse in Dallas. Twenty-one newly appointed CASA volunteers join 45 others who are advocating for foster children in the county’s juvenile dependency court system.

Paulding County Airport Authority (PCAA) received a completed draft from the FAA of the long-awaited second Environmental Assessment ordered as settlement of a citizen-filed lawsuit against Paulding’s airport authority. The FAA document was posted on both the county website and linked to the airport’s website.

Post Commissioners Todd Pownall, Tony Crowe, and Commission Chairman David Austin signed the proclamation last weekend declaring the intent to build the Richland Creek Reservoir as part of the Governor’s Water Supply Program at a gathering in Veterans Park at the Watson Government Complex in Dallas. Among guest speakers on Saturday were Congressman Tom Graves, Rep. Howard Maxwell and Laurie Ashmore, acting director, Paulding Water System.

Paulding’s Board of Commissioners met for their first October session last week and voted in favor of awarding the Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) contract to Cooper & Co. for the construction of the new E911/EOC facility at a site on Industrial Way in Dallas, not far from the existing facility.
