Prior to that he enlisted in the United States Navy where he was on active duty for eleven years. During his over 15 year career with the Sheriff’s Office, he served under two different sheriffs.
Detective Quimby began his career with the Sheriff’s Office like most, working in our Jail Division. He was quickly slated to attend the Georgia P.O.S.T. He was also one of the key partners in providing assistance to victims during the Temporary Protective Order (TPO) application process at the Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Gary Gulledge stated, “Stephen has been a dedicated employee for so many years. After dealing with a horrific broken leg several years ago, he always comes to work with a smile on his face looking to make a difference. I wish we could have sent him off with a huge party, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic we were unable to. Once everything gets back to normal, we will host an official retirement ceremony for him along with several others at a later date. I hope he enjoys time with his family and gets to relax as much as he wants.”
Detective Quimby’s law enforcement and military career has spanned over 26 years. During his tenure in law enforcement, he has seen many changes. We want to wish Detective Quimby a happy and relaxing retirement. Now he will have plenty of time to enjoy life and spend time with his family.
