Rep. Graves Applauds Progress on Tax Cuts and Jobs Bill

GravesHeadshot751Washington, D.C. – Rep. Tom Graves’ (R-GA-14) issued the following statement concerning Senate passage on Saturday of legislation to cut taxes for families and businesses and create more American jobs, which was followed last night by House passage of instructions to go to conference with Senate to work out the differences between each Chamber’s version of the bill:
“These are big steps toward getting President Trump’s tax cut and jobs plan across the finish line. The House and Senate bills will both put more money in the pockets of hard-working Georgia families, ensure a competitive environment for American businesses and create good-paying jobs. A Conference Committee will soon meet to hash out the differences between the bills so we can send a final tax reform plan to the president as soon as possible. The American people are counting on us.”
The House and Senate will establish a “Conference Committee” where a select group of members from each chamber will work out the differences between the House and Senate versions of the bill. After the Conference Committee agrees on a final version, the House and Senate will pass the final product and send it to the president to be signed into law.
