Charity Gifts for Children's Health Care of Atlanta

Jackson Pruett, 13, of Dallas, GA, who is the son of Lana Pruett, of Dallas, GA and Brandon and Jessica Pruett of Taylorsville, GA decided to something special for his birthday this year!
When he asked his friends to come over for his party, he decided to do something out of the ordinary! He asked his friends, in his invitation, not to include a gift for him. He asked that they help him by donating to his charity of choice, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Jackson researched what was needed and board games were on their wish list. Each child attending his party was asked to bring a board game to help with this special request. The children attended Jackson’s party with a genuine love for others and I have never been prouder of each of them. To watch them all come into my home with gifts for others that they have never met, was a delight! They were making a difference in someone else’s life!
After the party, I contacted my friend Jay Cunningham of Superior Plumbing and his team put me in touch with Pam Younker of CHOA. Pam was so excited for Jackson to come into the new Children’s at Town Center Outpatient Care Center. On Saturday, February 24, 2018, Pam met us with open arms! She gave us a personal and behind the scene tour of the new facility. Also, she spoke with Jackson about all of what and who Children’s take care of while explaining to him the importance of volunteers and donors.
“The mission of the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation is to make kids better today and healthier tomorrow through the philanthropic support of individual donors, charitable foundations, and corporations.
Every day, lifesaving work happens at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta—from pediatric cancer treatments and organ transplants to fracture care and appendectomies.
The Children’s Foundation relies on volunteers in the hospitals and in the community. Each year, in-hospital volunteers donate more than 127,000 hours of their time and community volunteer groups to raise millions for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta through fundraising activities and events.
As a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing high-quality pediatric care to the kids in our community, we depend on the generous support of donors to help uphold our mission and perform the work we do each day. We are grateful to all of our donors for their support.
