Vernon Collett Re-election Campaign Announcement

Hello, Paulding County! As Post 3 Commissioner it has been both an honor and a privilege to serve you since 2015. Today, I am excited to announce that I am seeking re-election for Post 3 Commissioner. I am hopeful that with your support and vote, I will be blessed to continue working for you and the county I love.
Four years ago, you elected me to help restore government order and transparency to a county that had lost confidence in its leaders. I promised at that time to live up to standards we all expect from government. I have upheld that promise every day and will continue to do so if reelected.
I am proud to represent Post 3 and the City of Hiram, home to both my wife Debbie’s business and my own. I support residents, businesses, Historic Downtown Preservation, and have been proactive in attracting independent restaurants and businesses to the area in order to increase employment and tax revenue.
I continue to advocate for more sewer projects in commercial and industrial districts in an effort to attract and retain even more businesses. The Sunnyland Industrial Park Sewer Project, completed in 2017, enables businesses to expand and will also allow the business park to retain existing businesses and even allow for future growth.Collett Family 3 2018

With support from the BOC, Metromont was able to obtain rezoning allowing them to expand and add more jobs in the near future. I was instrumental in Metromont and the Paulding County School District working together to create a program for students looking to join the workforce after graduation. I fully support a work ready force for current and future businesses in Paulding County and our school system. Partnering with local businesses is advantageous for our community, students, and school system.
Since 2015, I have supported the development of the Richland Creek Reservoir, the new Detention Center, our General Aviation Airport, Department of Drivers Services, E-911 Center, the final phase of Bill Carruth Pkwy and the widening of Hwy. 92, along with projects that include bringing the business license process online making it more accessible. I work closely with the Paulding County Economic Development Organization and am an active member of the Paulding County Republican Party, Paulding County Chamber of Commerce, Paulding County Small Business Association, and the Old Town Hiram Business Association.
My 28 years of experience in the Financial Services Industry gives me a thorough knowledge of planning and investment opportunities that allow me to bring unique and problem-solving experiences to the Board of Commissioners. As a fiscal conservative, I voted against raising the 2017-2018 mileage rate and the purchase of the former Sun Trust Building for County use. I am blessed to be married to my beautiful wife, Debbie Sibley Collett of 25 years. We have three wonderful children, Cameron, Amanda, and Ashley. Cameron, his wife Kayla and our one-year-old grandson, Case bring so much joy to our family. Debbie, our girls and I proudly attend West Ridge Church. I am an active member of the community, currently serving on the boards of Paulding County Board of Health and Chad’s Bracket. I also enjoy helping to assemble and deliver wagons to hospitals when possible.
These past three years, the BOC has worked hard to implement many projects and changes that are impacting Paulding County in a positive way, while laying the groundwork for responsible and sensible growth. There is still a lot to do, but things are definitely moving in the right direction.
I respectfully ask for your vote in the May 22nd Primary Election. I would like to continue serving the wonderful people of Paulding County who deserve ethical and transparent government. I will be a representative who will be their voice and work to secure a future that provides the quality of life we all expect in Paulding County.
I invite everyone to join me at my “Meet & Greet Fundraiser” on Thursday, March 29th between 5:00 and 8:00 p.m. at Gyro City in Hiram. Come on out for some great conversation and incredible food ~ I look forward to meeting you!
Thank you and God Bless,
Vernon Collett
