Georgia State Patrol SCRT Investigates Fatal Hit and Run

trafficPaulding County, GA. On March 6, 2020, at approximately 6:58 AM Paulding E- 911 received a call from a motorist stating that they thought a body was laying on the side of Dallas Acworth Highway just south of Cedarcrest Road. Deputies responded to 8575 Dallas Acworth Highway Dallas, Georgia 30132 where they found the deceased body of a male lying on the side of the roadway.
With the victim being deceased in what is being investigated as a hit and run fatality, the Georgia State Patrol was called in to head up the investigation. Troopers with the Georgia State Patrol Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT) responded to the scene and immediately launched their investigation. Troopers believe that the victim, who was later identified as Aaron Quarterman, (B/M, 24 YOA), was struck as he walked down the side of Dallas Acworth Highway. Troopers also believe that the incident took place between 9:00 PM and 12:00 AM on March 5, 2020. The suspect vehicle should have damage to the front right portion of the grill, hood, and bumper according to Troopers. Due to evidence left on the scene, Troopers preliminarily believe that the suspect vehicle could possibly be one of the following makes/models:

  • 1988-1993 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, 2500, 3500
  • 1988-1993 Chevrolet Tahoe
  • 1988-1993 GMC Sierra 1500, 2500, 3500
  • 1988-1993 GMC Yukon Possible Colors: Blue, White, or Gray
