grey600With a major focus on safety, GreyStone Power has invited Safe Kids Worldwide to its Annual Meeting of Members. The event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at GreyStone's headquarters in Douglasville, located at 4040 Bankhead Highway.grey400 Safe Kids will have a booth where children will be able to participate in a variety of activities, which help them recognize dangerous situations. The number one killer of children in the United States is injuries, according to safekids.org. "Around the world, a child dies from an unintentional injury every 30 seconds. And millions of children are injured in ways that can affect them for a lifetime," safekids.org states.
Since the organization's inception in 1988, 60 percent of unintentional injuries have decreased in children ages 19 and younger.
GreyStone Director of Safety & Loss Control Blake Pendley said safety to GreyStone is promoting the highest quality of life among employees and their families. "You don't know what you have until it is gone," he said.
GreyStone linemen will be on site to emphasize safety around electricity to children. GreyStone Power serves more than 110,000 members in portions of eight counties, including Paulding, Douglas, Fulton, Cobb, Carroll, Bartow, Fayette and Coweta counties. Learn more at www.greystonepower.com.
