The South Paulding High School Law, Public Safety, Corrections, and Security (LPSCS) Criminal Justice Essentials and Criminal Investigation classes were pleased to recently demonstrate Community Policing and Community Service at its finest by aiding the culinary classes by supplying an indoor “Herb Garden” structure. The LPSCS classes have been studying community policing and its effects on relationships. This pathway is under the umbrella of the Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) of Skills USA. Skills emphasizes Community Service and Leadership. This emphasis combined with the community policing demonstrates the students’ ability and progress of becoming servient leaders.
Chef Patrice Martin, with teary eyes, thanked the students and said she never ceases to be amazed by the family atmosphere shown by the students and CTAE programs toward each other. She also said that the addition of the herb garden will enhance the students’ experiences by growing their own herbs and pride in dishes using ingredients that they have grown.
