(Paulding County, GA) On March 15, 2016 between the hours of 7:30 am and 6:00 pm Gene and Lander Shelton’s residence at 8741 Highpoint Road Douglasville, GA was burglarized. Although the Shelton’s address is just inside Douglas County, they have owned and operated Shelton’s Wrecker Service and Garage in Paulding County for over 25 years. During that time, Shelton’s Wrecker Service has been one of the longtime “on call” wreckers services for the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office.

The burglary investigation is being conducted by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and the Criminal Investigations Division of the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office is assisting them. During the course of the burglary, an undisclosed amount of US Currency, along with jewelry, and several firearms were taken.

Since the Shelton family has longtime ties to Paulding County, they believe that the person(s) responsible may reside in Paulding County. Furthermore, they asked if the Sheriff’s Office could publicize this case and offer a reward. The Shelton family is offering up to $2000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect(s) in the March 15th burglary of their residence.
