Paulding County’s Board of Commissioners voted 5-0 last week to table until next month a request submitted from Airport Director Terry Tibbitts for $500,000 for the conversion of the large airport hangar, known as “Hangar One” to bring that facility up to full compliance with all current building and fire codes, which would also allow for more profitable use of the building, Tibbetts told Paulding commissioners during last week’s morning session.

Paulding County workers last week moved the county's Veterans Memorial monument from downtown Dallas to a park facing the county courthouse on the campus of the Watson Government Complex. The new location is in Veterans Park adjacent to the county courthouse and county government office buildings, where all relocated in 2007.

May 1st, 2019 a search warrant was executed at 23 Greystone Way Hiram, Georgia in reference to possession and distribution of child pornography. Deputies from the Warrants Division, Juvenile Investigations Division were assisted by the Hiram Police Department in the execution of that search warrant.
According to Detectives, the residents initially thought someone was shooting fireworks outside of the home until they started seeing bullets flying through the walls. As a result of the shooting, one male received a non-life threating gunshot wound to the torso.
U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Ryan D. Warner graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. Warner is the son of Wynn and Carol Warner of Acworth, Georgia. He is a 2001 graduate of Carl J. Harrison High School, Kennesaw, Georgia.

Presenters will highlight the dangers of marijuana and vaping to youth brain development as well as the misconceptions that youth and adults have regarding these burning issues.

Saturday, April 27, 2019, was a huge day for the City of Dallas! Starting the day off over 200 runners began the 8 Annual Dallas 5K Race for a Cure, benefiting Relay for Life. The City of Dallas and the Paulding Rotary Club would like to thank all the runners and walkers for their support of this annual event to find a cure for cancer.
