Graves Receives Input for Active-Defense Bill at Cyber Event

Washington, D.C. – Ahead of the recent global ransomware attack, Rep. Tom Graves (R-GA-14) held an event, in cooperation with the Georgia Institute of Technology, on May 1 for executives and thought leaders in Atlanta about cybersecurity policy, including Rep. Graves’ Active Cyber Defense Certainty Act (ACDC). The panelists gave Rep. Graves feedback on his draft bill and discussed ways to improve it. Background
In March, Rep. Graves proposed ACDC as a discussion draft. The draft bill makes changes to the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA) to allow the use of limited defensive measures that exceed the boundaries of one’s network in an attempt to identify and stop attackers. Once a cybercriminal is identified, the victim can share that information with law enforcement or try to disrupt an ongoing attack. Click HERE to read more about ACDC.
