The 1st Annual "Impact on Abilities" Community Awards Banquet

Ples C. Davis, CTI Coordinator and Chick-fil-A Leader Academy Facilitator at East Paulding High School is proud to announce the 1st Annual “Impact on Abilities” Awards Banquet, recognizing outstanding individuals and business in the local community for their contributions to training and employment of individual with disabilities was held on Tuesday, May 16th at the Paulding County Senior Citizens Building.
The “Impact on Abilities” Awards Banquet honors highly esteemed Community Members: Employers of the Year, Employees of the Year, Adult Service/Training Agency of the Year, Outstanding Community Sponsor of the Year and Outstanding Educators of the Year. Merit Awards honoring active members from the Chick-fil-A Leader Academy Service Clubs were celebrated as well.
This event to be held each year at a local venue is attended by community stakeholders at large. School, community and business sponsors are introduced, and outgoing Chick-fil-A Leader Academy Members are honored for their service.
We feel that the “Impact on Abilities” Award Banquet is a valued recognition social affair and East Paulding High School Chick-fil-A Leader Academy is proud to have been the host of this event on Tuesday, May 16th, 2017 at the Paulding County Senior Citizens Building. Winners of the prestigious community acknowledgments are as follows:

  • Employer of the Year (Environmental Recycling) - Kimi Hastings at C & C Battery Recycling Center Employer of the Year - Donnie Nowell
  • Employer of the Year ( Service & Repair) - Gary Hatcher at Gary's Auto & Marine Upholstery Employer of the Year - Nicholas Dassow
  • Employer of the Year (Food Retail) - Stephanie Birchell at Kroger (Hwy 278) Employer of the Year - Courtney Gunter
  • Employer of the Year (Family Entertainment) - Randy Riggs at Stars & Strikes Family Fun Center Employer of the Year - Janas Allen
  • Adult Service Agency of the Year (Job Training) - Vanessa Taylor at Vocational Rehabilitation Services Vocational Client of the Year - Christopher Jonah Dupree
  • Exceptional Student Service of the Year (Team) - Michele Bealing Sayles, Leigh Miller & Kristin Pewitt of Paulding County School System
  • Outstanding Community Sponsorship of the Year - Kristie Summers at Chick-fil-A Dallas & Hiram GA

Chick-fil-A and CTI members Present: Abby Bumbelow, Mia Governale, Sierra Hall, Hannah McGurit, Anya Pinkney, Jad-isis Porter, Sarah Serist and Jaylyn Stewart. The Chick-fil-A Leader Academy and Career & Technical Instructional (CTI) are state and national high school leadership program focused on impact through action. We feel that the world needs more leaders who impact their local communities, and this program is investing in high school students all across the nation because we believe they are the answer!
Special thanks to the keynote speaker for the night, Adrianna Cherelle, a home grown, up and coming screen writer. Thank you for helping us realize how many abilities and possibilities we have.
