Rhonda Reece, Vice President at Westside Bank, Named Citizen of the Year by South Cobb Rotary

The South Cobb Rotary named Rhonda Reece as its Citizen of the Year at their monthly luncheon on Thursday, October 24, 2019. Rhonda serves as a Vice President at Westside Bank, working out of its Mableton Branch. Rhonda was selected for this honor in recognition of her extensive leadership and continued devotion to her local community.
As the ladies who work with Rhonda said, “Rhonda is an asset to the community. She certainly is an asset to Westside Bank. She will help anyone. She will do anything for anyone and can find no fault with anyone.”
Rhonda began her banking career in 1972 when she joined the team at Georgia State Bank. It was at this time that she began dedicating her time and energy to the South Cobb and surrounding communities. She has stayed in banking continuously for 47 years, serving different roles at different banks, but always making a difference because she provided the highest level of customer service to her customers. No matter where Rhonda worked, her customers followed her because they knew that she would take care of them and their banking needs.
“Rhonda truly loves people and she truly loves her community,” said Ford Thigpen, President & CEO of Westside Bank. “Her customers bank with her because they know they can trust her. She does not shy away from helping anyone and has made a tremendous impact on her community whenever she has been called on to help or when she has identified a need.”
Throughout her career, Rhonda has volunteered with the following organizations: South Cobb Business Association, Sweetwater Mission, WellStar Cobb Hospital Auxiliary, Cobb County Partners in Education, Smyrna Kiwanis, Cobb County Chamber of Commerce, Cobb Diaper Day, Project Overcoat, Austell Business Association, Douglas County Chamber of Commerce, Paulding Chamber of Commerce, Bullock Hope House and Golf for Hope.
When not working at the bank, Rhonda and her husband of more than fifty years, Hoyt Reece, enjoy spending time with their three grown children and their families that include four grandsons and two great-grandchildren.
“No one is more deserving of this honor than Rhonda,” said Mr. Thigpen. “She works tirelessly and helps enormously. Westside Bank is fortunate to have her on our team.”
