city council rec 600McKinley Queen was recognized by Dallas Mayor Boyd Austin and members of Dallas City Council for the completion of his Eagle Scout Service Project. McKinley was presented with a certificate of appreciation and commended for his achievement during May’s council meeting.

McKinley elected the city’s new dog park, Dog Woods at Coleman Camp Park, as his project beneficiary and chose to build new picnic tables for the park. As part of his project, he was responsible for planning, organizing, fundraising and supervising volunteers to carry it out. His project proposal indicated the new picnic tables would allow “people visiting the park a nice place to stop and rest with their families while spending time at the park with their dogs.”

We are very fortunate to have great kids in our community like McKinley who are willing to donate their time and skills, looking to the future and improving the quality of life in our city and county!
