Cobb EMC recently named six Russom Elementary fifth-graders winners of the electric cooperative’s 2017 patriotism essay contest.

The top six students were presented with framed prints of their essays. The top three winners received $50 American Express® gift cards, while fourth, fifth and sixth-place students received $25 gift cards. The school’s first place winner, Hailey Dufresne, was recognized before the Paulding County Board of Education as the Russom Elementary student who best exemplifies patriotism. Additionally, Dufresne read her essay to fellow students at Russom Elementary’s Veterans Day Celebration assembly.
