Local students awarded LaGrange College Scholarships

LAGRANGE, Ga.—Local high school senior Brantley Mauldin of Dallas, GA and high school senior Payton Eeles of Acworth, GA recently participated in LaGrange College’s Presidential Scholar Weekend competition and earned thousands of dollars in scholarship awards.
At the competition, students were judged on their performance in group discussions, written essays, and individual interviews. Students offered scholarships can utilize the awards in the fall of 2018, and the scholarships are renewable for the following three years.
Presidential Scholars are awarded a full scholarship, while Dean’s Scholars receive $12,000, Fellows Scholars earn $10,000 and Founders Scholars get $8,000.
Georgia’s oldest private institution of higher learning, LaGrange College is consistently ranked among the South’s top colleges by U.S. News & World Report. A four-year liberal arts and sciences college affiliated with the United Methodist Church, LaGrange offers more than 70 areas of study with an emphasis on global engagement and service.
