Child Molestation Conviction

(Paulding County, GA) On June 8, 2018, Nicholas Brian Odell (W/M, 27 YOA), just prior to his trial, agreed to a non-negotiated plea where he pled guilty to three counts of Child Molestation (OCGA 16-6-4). When he was arrested in 2015 the original charges included Aggravated Child Molestation but were reduced in lieu of a plea agreement with prosecutors.
In 2015, Odell was investigated by the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office Crimes Against Children Division and was charged as a result of incidents that occurred in 2013. At the time of the incidents, Odell was 22 years old and the victim was 12 years old.
Paulding Judicial Circuit Superior Court Judge Dean Bucci sentenced Odell to 30 years where he will serve 15 of that 30 incarcerated in a Georgia State Prison. Odell will also be a registered Sex Offender once he is released from prison. Odell is being held in the Paulding County Jail awaiting transfer to State Prison.
