Pursuit Ends in Fiery Fatality Crash

PCSheriffLogo 242x300(Paulding County, GA) On Thursday, August 14, 2018, at approximately 10:30 PM, a Paulding County Deputy observed a blue 2006 Suzuki GSXR motorcycle in the area of US 278/GA 6 and Pace Road with bright neon lights illuminated and what appeared to be no tag displayed. The Deputy attempted to navigate through traffic to catch up to the motorcycle, but due to traffic signals and other vehicular congestion in the City of Hiram, he did not catch up to motorcycle until it was inside of Cobb County. Once the Deputy finally caught up to the motorcycle, the Deputy activated his emergency equipment in an attempt to get the motorcycle to stop. With traffic being much lighter in that area, the motorcycle “ran the red light” at US 278/GA 6 and Richard D. Sailors Parkway and fled eastbound on US 278/GA 6 toward Interstate 20. The motorcycle fled at speeds in excess of over 100 MPH with the Deputy barely being able to keep up.
Approximately one minute later, the Deputy observed a fiery crash up ahead which was later determined to be the fatal accident the claimed the life of the motorcyclist. The collision took place at the intersection of US 278/GA 6 and Oglesby Road. The Cobb County Police Department’s STEP Unit investigated the accident which involved the motorcycle and two other vehicles. It was reported that the occupants in the other vehicles involved were not seriously injured. The Cobb County Police Department identified that motorcyclist at Freddie Allen Few III (B/M, 23 YOA). Few was pronounced deceased on the scene by Fire and EMS personnel who responded to the crash.
