Paulding County Farm Bureau Receives District Awards

MACON, Ga. – Paulding County Farm Bureau received two awards during the Georgia Farm Bureau 3rd District annual meeting, held Sept. 18 in Douglasville. Nora Goodman is the PCFB president.
PCFB Office Manager Tracy Grice received the 2018 GFB 3rd District Outstanding County Office Manager Award. Grice, who has been in her current position with Farm Bureau since 2015, coordinates PCFB’s agricultural advocacy projects, oversees PCFB’s office in Dallas, and provides customer service to PCFB’s insurance policyholders.
“I truly found my niche with Paulding County Farm Bureau and I know that I have come home,” said Grice, who worked as an insurance agent with Haralson County Farm Bureau prior to her post at PCFB. “Driving into work every day, I get that feeling I did as a child going back home to see my relatives on the farm.” Grice, her husband Chuck and their daughters Brooke and Megan live on the family’s 13-acre farm, raising poultry, rabbits, pigs, and goats, as well as growing fruit and pecans.
“Tracy has accepted the challenge and moved ag awareness forward in Paulding County,” Goodman wrote in her letter recommending Grice for the award. “She is well- known throughout the county and is called on to help set up many programs.” PCFB also received the 2018 Georgia Farm Bureau Membership Award, given to recognize county Farm Bureaus that increased their membership over the previous year. Founded in 1937, Georgia Farm Bureau is the state’s largest general farm organization and has 158 county offices. Its volunteer members actively participate in local, state and national activities that promote agriculture awareness to their non- farming neighbors. GFB offers its members a wide variety of benefits, including insurance, but enrollment in member benefits is optional and not a requirement for membership.
