Girl Scout School Supply Project
I am a Girl Scout in Paulding County and I am conducting a school supply project to earn my Gold Award. The Gold Award is the highest award in Girl Scouts. My project will target low-income students in Paulding County and impoverished children in parts of Africa. More than 21 million children Nationwide receive free and reduced lunches. When families face decisions, such as keeping their lights on, it means their children’s backpacks remain empty. Each year, these same students struggle with the reality that their parents or guardians can not provide adequate school supplies for them. Data shows that teachers throughout the Country overwhelmingly support students who lack sufficient supplies which places a financial burden on already underpaid educators. My goal is to provide supplies to 100 students in our area so teachers don't have to. The education of children is critical to both local and international societies.
Supply Their Future: A Girl Scout Gold Award Project
All over the world thousands of children do not have sufficient supplies for school. My project will provide school supplies to low-income students in Paulding County and impoverished children throughout Africa.
