National Pro Motorcycle Road Racing Series Offers Weekend of Family Fun
IRVINE, Calif. – July 1, 2020 – MotoAmerica is set to tackle Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta for its third round of the 2020 championship season July 31 through Aug. 2. Featuring five classes of the country’s best motorcycle racers, the weekend-long event kicks off with qualifiers on Friday followed by two full days of nonstop racing action. MotoAmerica and Michelin Raceway will welcome fans to the scenic track to cheer on the professional racers, with government-sanctioned safety protocols in place.
“We are so excited to welcome MotoAmerica and their talented pool of riders back, as they always put on a spectacular show that comes down to the last lap,” said Rick Humphrey, president, and general manager of Michelin Raceway. “We are dedicated to working with MotoAmerica to allow fans the opportunity to experience all of the thrilling, high-speed action that the weekend will offer.”
Considered to be one of the speediest sections of pavement in the country, Michelin Raceway’s 2.54-mile, the 12-turn layout will challenge MotoAmerica’s top competitors as they battle it out on the world’s fastest production-based motorcycles, topping speeds of up to 190 mph. Spectators can enjoy stunt shows and bike displays, plus the chance to get autographs and see participating riders, teams, and motorcycles at the open paddock on all three days.
“Michelin Raceway is a challenging yet fun course, so all of our riders have been looking forward to competing in Atlanta,” said Wayne Rainey, president of MotoAmerica. “The weekend will have something for everyone, so we are hoping that both racing fans and those new to the sport will come out to safely experience a race MotoAmerica-style.”
