Chattahoochee Technical College Welcomes Business Leader Gary Henderson to Board of Directors

(Acworth, Ga. – Oct. 18, 2021) Chattahoochee Technical College recently welcomed local business leader Gary Henderson to the college’s Board of Directors. State Rep. Ed Setzler administered the oath of office for Henderson during a ceremony held on Oct. 14 at Atlanta Bonded Warehouse (ABW) in Kennesaw.
Henderson serves as the ABW Director for Safety and Human Resources. A graduate of the University of Georgia Terry College of Business, he began his career as a transportation supervisor at the Kroger Company. In his role as a distribution specialist with the Snackmaster division of Mars, Inc., he managed the distribution of food products to retail grocery stores throughout the Southeast. He later served for 25 years as the vice president of Colonial Cartage Corporation, overseeing refrigerated trucking shipments for confectionery and food products.
“We are very pleased to welcome Gary Henderson to the college’s Board of Directors,” said Chattahoochee Tech President Dr. Ron Newcomb. “He brings an unsurpassed level of transportation and logistics workforce expertise to our team as local businesses contend with current supply chain challenges.”
ABW plays a key role in food supply logistics as a comprehensive third-party logistics service and serves as a leading third-party logistics provider of integrated warehousing, transportation, and co-packaging in the Southeast. The company provides warehousing and transportation solutions for many industries. These industries include retail grocery products, confectionery, beverage, pharmaceutical/nutraceutical, and consumer packaging.
The Chattahoochee Tech Board of Directors is an advisory board composed of members who were nominated by area industry and community leaders and approved by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG). As a member of this Board, Henderson will fulfill an important role as an advocate within the community on issues of importance involving the college and the local workforce.
