“From Dallas GA it’s the Walker family.” Words that we will never forget.

Thanksgiving of 2020 I had just gotten off my 12-hour shift at the hospital heading to my sister's house to have dinner. On the way there I saw an ad on Facebook saying, “audition for Family Feud in Atlanta.” I immediately sent a text to my family and said we’re doing this and we’re doing an audition tape tonight! It was an entire family effort. With one brother-in-law playing Steve, the other being at the “face-off” with dad, my boyfriend videotaping, and my nephew pressing the buzzer when we got an answer right. We came up with an idea to play a mock game and ask the question, “who are the next people to be on Family Feud,” and we proceeded by saying our name, showing our personalities, and just having fun. When I submitted the video I got a confirmation saying we would hear back in a month if we were picked. Well, I woke up the next day and I had an email saying that they wanted to do a zoom audition with us. We were so ecstatic thinking we would never have a chance but just went for it when we sent in a video. For the next 7 months, we had several stages before we actually got to go to the studio and be on the real stage. Even then we had one last final audition. Finally, on June 25th our dreams became a reality and we’re standing on stage with Steve Harvey. This day had to be one of our family's top memories.
My parents have three girls and we’re all in different directions with busy schedules. The fact that we got to do this as a family was so much fun and something we will have forever to cherish. We laughed so much when we filmed that we couldn’t even smile the rest of the week. We never cared if we won money. We just wanted to create a memory that we would have forever as a family. It never really felt real until we saw ourselves on national television for the first episode. I even teared up. Our entire county was cheering us on and even friends from many different states. We were even streamed on the television at our local Texas Roadhouse. I’m so thankful that this turned from just randomly sending in a quick video we made just being ourselves to actually being on Family Feud and walking away with $20,000!
All I have to say is life is too short. If you want to audition for a game show do it! You never know you may actually end up on national television and win.famfeud2famfeud2famfeud2
