The Paulding County Senior 4-H Forestry Judging team placed 3rd at the State 4-H Forestry Judging Competition on Saturday, September 26th at Rock Eagle 4-H Center in Eatonton, Ga. 4-H’ers from across the state travelled to compete in the one-day competition. This year’s team consisted of five Senior 4-H’ers who spent 12 weeks preparing for the competition by learning to identify seventy-five Georgia trees, forty diseases and insects of forest trees and learning about forest measurements and orienteering. Paulding County 4-H Forestry Judging Team members competing at the state event were Kimberly Hadaway, Lydia Kenney, Aaren Schertler, Jack Derochers, and Madison Thomason.
