The South Paulding Spartans hosted the Loganville Red Devils this past Friday night and dominated the game. The Red Devils won the toss and received the ball first, with the Spartans defense determined to control the game. The Spartan defense lead by #7 Jake Yetter and #30 Dawson Mitchell lit up the Red Devil offense with a number of sacks and an interception. The Spartans scored first with a run by #20 Kameron Watts to take the lead 7-0. The Spartan defense still dominating the Red Devils gain control of the ball for the Spartan offense to drive it down field on another TD run by #20 Kameron Watts. The Red Devils trying to get back into the game, were able to squeak out a field goal to get on the board with SP leading 14-3 with 3 minuets left in the first half the Spartan offense drove down field to sett up a field goal to extend their lead to 17-3 to end the half.
The Spartans came out with a determined attitude in the second half. The Spartans were able to get the ball in range for another field goal to extend the lead to 20-3 The Red Devils once again tried to get back into the game and drove down field to close the gap to 20-10. The Spartans had the ball on their own 20yrd line and with a hand off to #20 Kameron Watts, he drove straight up the middle for a 80yrd td run and regained the momentum of the game. The Spartans ended the game 34-16 to advance to the next round and will host the Drew Titans from Riverdale. Kick off will be at 7:30 Friday night, Please come out and support the Spartans.
