After a wonderful inaugural season of limited engagements in Branson MO, the Tellin’ Tales Comedy Tour with Joey & Dan will be making a return to Branson for a full season of dates in 2016!
The show recently signed a deal to appear at the Baldknobbers’ Theater on the famous Branson strip for the 2016 season with shows starting March 7th. “We are very excited about adding The Tellin’ Tales Comedy Tour with Joey & Dan to our new lineup of shows for the 2016 season”, said Brandon Mabe Star of the Baldknobbers Show & Theater General Manager. The show will run March through December. Some may remember the Baldknobbers as the first family of Branson who were made world famous by the recent reality television show Branson Famous on TruTV.
The Tellin’ Tales Comedy show stars Paulding native, former WCW Professional Wrestler and the star of the new television series “Funny Business”, Joey Thurmond and Nationally known Award Winning comedian Dan Whitehurst. Dan is a favorite at National comedy clubs, is a regular feature on ABC’s television series “Nashville”, and stars in the new Comedy-Horror movie “Black Holler” to be released in 2016. Last year the Tellin’ Tales Comedy Tour toured in over 20 states and cities across America and performed for thousands of fans. “We conceived a show that would feature good, clean story telling kind of comedy that everyone can enjoy and the audiences have really got behind it”, said Thurmond. After being honored last season to perform several guest star appearances at the Baldknobbers’ Theatre, Joey and Dan were a big hit with Baldknobber fans. “It just seems like a very good fit for our style of show and our personalities” said Whitehurst.
At a time when Branson is reaching out to familiar and new audiences alike, Tellin’ Tales Comedy Tour with Joey & Dan seems to be exactly on target. “We are basically moving into the Grand Ole Opry of the show capitol of the World in Branson MO”, said Thurmond speaking of Branson which hosts more theater seating than Broadway. It seems imperative to bring new acts to the town that is listed by the Travel Channel as one of the Top Ten Travel Destinations in America and in 2014 boasted a tourism record of over 8 million visitors.
The two have really made an impression on several stars with quotes like “If you really want to laugh at great clean comedy then go see my friends Joey and Dan at the Tellin’ Tales Comedy Tour. You’ll have a wonderful time I guarantee it!” from country music legend Mickey Gilley.
The show will continue to tour the United States again in 2016 for select dates.
