On February 15, 2016 at approximately 1:00 PM Deputies with the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Mt. Tabor Church Road in reference to the theft of a package that had been delivered. The victim reported that she observed the package was on the front porch upon arrival, and when she attempted to retrieve it a short time later, it was missing. In review of video surveillance footage, she then noticed the act had been caught on camera.
The incident was quickly shared by the victim’s family and friends via social media and the information was also shared by Atlanta area news outlets. Video and still shots were then placed on the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, resulting in numerous leads for Detectives to sort through and determine which were credible.
Officers with the Hiram Police Department made contact with a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle, a distinguishable Black Ford Mustang. Through solid police work, the Hiram Police Officer made an arrest on un-related charges, but shared information concerning the encounter and subsequent arrest. Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office diligently worked on the leads and were later able to secure criminal arrest warrants for both subjects involved, which were quickly arrested.
If it were not for the quick response by the great citizens of Paulding County, the willingness to share the story by our friends in the local media and a keen eye by Deputies and Officers involved, this case could have gone unsolved. We would like to extend thanks to everyone involved.

Update: A bag/package was delivered to the area of the incident location, on the day following the initial report. This is believed to contain some of the stolen items, a note and a small amount of cash. As to the exact details concerning this, it is still being investigated and pends further processing.
