On April 22, 2016 Olivia Shead, of the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office, was recognized at a retirement ceremony which was held in her honor at the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office Training Center. On hand to recognize her for her service was Sheriff Gary Gulledge, along with numerous Deputies, friends, and family members.Shead 800

Olivia Shead began her career at the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office on March 4, 1994 as a Detention Officer. While she worked in the jail, she obtained the rank of Sergeant. Olivia then became a Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC) Operator. GCIC is the computer system that alerts law enforcement officers when a person is wanted, an item is stolen, a person is missing, and it also keeps up with criminal history information. After working in GCIC for a while, Olivia became the Terminal Agency Coordinator (TAC) in 2001. The TAC is responsible for making sure that each Deputy has their GCIC certifications up to date and oversees all of the GCIC Operators.

During her twenty-two year career at the Sheriff’s Office, Olivia worked for Sheriff Bruce Harris (Retired), and Sheriff Gary Gulledge. Sheriff Gulledge remarked, “Olivia is as good as they come! She knows GCIC better than anyone. Having her as my GCIC TAC has made my job as the Sheriff much easier. I certainly don’t know how we will replace her; she will be sorely missed.” The Deputies and staff of the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office want to thank Olivia Shead for her service and congratulate her on an excellent career. We hope she enjoys her much deserved retirement.
