The Wolfpack finally returned to the den beginning their region play against the Hillgrove Hawks. North having a record of 5-0 and ranked 10th in AAAAAAA football and Hillgrove with a 2-3 record.
The first quarter was a tussle back and forth with neither team scoring. North took the ball 83 yards to begin the second quarter capping it off with a 17 yard pass from Ross Malmgren to Brian Mitchell.  Hillgrove’s next possession stalled and they were forced to punt but North fumbled the ball giving the Hawks excellent field position. The Hawks capitalized on the Wolfpack error when Chigoziem Okonkwo caught an 8 yard pass from quarterback Hunter Arters making a tie game at 7-7. Chad Terrell scored on the next possession for the Wolfpack on a 45 yard strike over two Hillgrove defenders. But once again Hillgrove answered the challenge tying the game at 14-14. North fumbled the kickoff and Hillgrove recovered again deep into Wolfpack territory. Lance Wise scored on a 22 yard run making it a 21-14 game at the half.
The Wolfpack drew first blood in the second half when Terrell scored his second of three TD’s on a 22 yard pass from Malmgren. Neither team would let up in the second half. The Hawks took the lead again at 28-21 when Jaylen McCollough scored from the one yard line. The pack and Chad Terrell answered again tying the game on an 11 yard pass from Malmgren. With 4:03 left in the game, the Hawks began what would be their game winning drive. Starting at their own 8 yard line, the Hawks drove the ball to the Wolfpack 14 yard line and #85 Jason Pierce made a 31 yard field goal as time expired ending the Wolfpack’s undefeated season and giving Hillgrove their first Region win.
The Wolfpack will face North Cobb Friday October 15th at North Cobb. The Warriors are 4-2 with a 0-1 Region record after falling to McEachern 17-10.

Malmgren was 21-31 for 323 yards and 4 TD’s
Chad Terrell had 10 catches for 254 yards and 3 TD receptions.
Brian Mitchell had 2 catches for 28 yards and 1 TD and rushed 14 yards on 5 carries.
