The Hiram Hornets came into the game hoping to get back on the winning track against a traditional powerhouse in Georgia high school football. The 8th ranked Carrollton Trojans made the trip up highway 61 with other plans on their mind. Hiram 4-4(2-4) played them tough and from this reporters perspective actually got the better of the Trojans despite the final scoreboard tally. Hiram played very well and and seems to have improved since the beginning of the season when I saw them last. Quarterback Nathan Presnell managed the game well and excelled in passing during critical moments and making big plays. Presnell connected with Keshawn Williams and Jermaine Banks for big scoring plays. Banks is a name to remember as he is just a freshman and has blazing speed and has already caught several touchdown passes this season. The Hornets ground game was also successful, churning up yards for the Hornets were Marcel Murray and Elijah Hairston, the latter scoring a touchdown. The Hornets have 2 games remaining and must win both in order to have a shot at the playoffs. They travel to the Boneyard next week to take on the resurgent Raiders from East Paulding in a must when game for both. Download free photos. photobucket michaelcatoe49.
