KENNESAW MOUNTAIN VS NORTH PAULDING

The Wolfpack hosted the Kennesaw Mountain Mustangs Friday night. The Mustangs received the opening kickoff and was forced to punt. Brian Mitchell, #12, ran the ball out of the Wildcat formation to the Kennesaw 13. Drive ended with a field goal putting the Wolfpack on the board first. The Mustangs were once again forced to punt (4 times in the first quarter) but the Wolfpack muffed the punt giving the Mustangs excellent field position. After just a couple of plays, #45 Jesse Dejames recovered a fumble giving the ball back to the Pack. Charles Benton, #34 scored from the 15 yard line making it a 10-0 ball game with 3:04 left in the first quarter. After another unsuccessful drive the Wolfpack blocked the Mustangs punt (#44 Tyler Bird) and the Pack was setup on the Mustang 26 yard line. The very next play Ross Malmgren connected with Chad Terrell making it a 17-0 ball game.
The second quarter seemed to mirror the first quarter as the Mustangs were unable to move the ball on the Pack defense and #34, Benton catches a screen pass taking it to the Kennesaw 7 yard line. Brian Mitchell scored from the 2 making it a 24-0 game. After another Mustang punt, Brian Mitchell catches a Malmgren pass for a 16 yard TD. Kennesaw never really got a drive going in the first half but was finally able to stop the Pack when they intercepted Malmgren on their own 5 yard line. #91, Jackson Gravely kicked a 23 yard field goal to end the half with a score of 34-0.
After receiving the kickoff after half, #81 Chad Terrell makes an unbelievable, one-handed catch for a 45 yard score less than 2 minutes into the third quarter. Kennesaw was finally able to establish a drive but came up short after four attempts at the Wolfpack 5. The next play, Malmgren connected, once again with Terrell for a 95 yard pass making it a 48-0 game.
Kennesaw finally got on the scoreboard as #10, Goede catches a 17 yard pass from #7. The game ended with #11, Devontavious McClendon intercepted the ball giving the Pack another win 48-7.
The Wolfpack will host the Marietta Blue Devils Friday night and the winner will secure the fourth seed for Region 3-AAAAAAA and a playoff birth. The Wolfpack has been to the playoffs every year that Coach Jones has been at the reign.
