PATRIOTS SWEPT BY TROJANS

The Paulding County Patriots faced the Carrollton Trojans in both girls and boys varsity action in Dallas on Friday night. Unfortunately for the Patriots the Trojans came out on top in both games.
In the opening game the Lady Patriots were not up to the task of stopping one of the regions premiere squads. Carrollton coming into the game sat alone at the top of the region with a perfect mark of 9-0. The Lady Patriots(3-9) held their own in the 1st quarter only trailing 12-7. However the 2nd quarter proved to be their undoing as Carrollton outscored them 29-2 to put the game out of reach. The game ended with a lopsided score of 82-33. To their credit the Lady Patriots never gave up and played hard to the buzzer.
The boys game turned out to be a very close nip and tuck game with the Trojans edging the Patriots 71-68. The Patriots fell to 6-6 in the region and Carrollton moved to 8-2 and are currently tied with Kell for the region lead. The loss snapped a 4 game winning streak for the Patriots. The Patriots travel next to East Paulding and Villa Rica next and hope to get another streak going before the region tournament.
