East Paulding Falls to Kell

My travels led me to Raider country this week to cover the East Paulding basketball games. Both squads are having a year that has been difficult thus far. The Raiders were hosting the Kell Longhorns of Cobb County. While the outcomes were not desirable that did not effect the effort I saw from both squads. In the girls game after a miserable 1st quarter of 16 -1 , the Lady Raiders showed their resilience outscoring Kell 11-5 and only trail 21-12 at halftime. The final tally ended up 44-32.
The boys game ended up a lopsided affair with Kell winning 100-57. However, never did I see one player on the East team give up and pack it in. This team is very young and under the guidance of Coach Joby Boydstone this team is going to turn it around in a year or two. When they learn the system and learn to work together applying the system Boydstone is teaching they will be a force to reckon with. After East goes though the growing pains of this year they will be an exciting team to watch in the future.
