EPHS's 5th Season Goes Swimmingly!

The East Paulding Swim Team just finished its fifth season. It is coached by Zach Coker who has been with the team for four years. Our team has grown every year since the program’s created and we reached our growth limit this year of 30 total swimmers. We currently have to share a practice facility and time with North Paulding at Bentwater, which limits how big either of our teams can get. We just finished our greatest season to date having had 8 previous school records broken. We are led on the Boys side by Juniors Cole Grenon (who broke 2 school records) and William Ryan; while our girls were led by graduating Senior Nikhayla Sterling (who broke 1 school record) and Sophomore Kina Crowe (who broke 3 school records). We have yet to have any swimmers make the State meet at the end of each season, but Cole Grenon came within a second on one event of being able to do so this season. All of the coaches within the county have enjoyed watching our programs grow, but it continues to be a struggle to practice/compete due to our limited numbers. Ultimately, our collective goal would be to see a Paulding County Aquatic Center get built that we could all share and continue to grow the love for our sport and start being more competitive with the likes of the teams in the surrounding counties that are much bigger than we are.
