The South Paulding High School swim team completed their fifth season on Saturday, January 28th at the Rockin' Relays Meet at the Cumming Aquatic Center. The Spartans fell just short of making the state meet for the first time in five years. However, they had a historic season. Five school records were broken: Max Andrist- Boys 100 Freestyle and Boys 100 Backstroke: Hunter Cobb- Boys 200 Freestyle and Boys 500 Freestyle: and Kirsten Lockhart Girls 100 Breaststroke. The highlight of the Spartans' season was the NW GA Swim and Dive Championship. Ten of the thirteen swimmers returned to compete in the finals in ten different events. With only one senior, Emily Shrewsbury, graduating this year, the Swimming Spartans and their Coaches, Toni Freeman and Shannon Parris are already looking forward to the 2017-2018 season.
