Spartans Fall to Northgate

The South Paulding Spartans traveled to Northgate of Coweta county to take on the Vikings Friday night in hopes of that elusive first win. The Spartans struck first with a 3-yard touchdown by #3 Miles Campbell to take their first lead of the season 7-0. The Spartan Defense was on fire forcing 3 consecutive fumbles to get the offense in position to score. The Vikings came back with a score of their own to tie the game. The Spartans looked like a better team than the 3 previous games and we’re obliviously not going down without a fight. The offense was showing signs of greatness with #44 Austin Ruben pounding his way up the middle for his best game of the year and #3 Miles Campbell Completing many perfectly thrown passes for long gains to #82 Jermain Austin and #5 Edward Smith. The Spartans Defense stepped as well and made many great stops to force the Vikings to punt the ball away. Though the final score of 28-14 does not reflect the win for the Spartans, their efforts to show a win. The Spartans next game will be October 6th at Langston Hughs.

DSC 5656#15 Chance Greene, #21 Keegan Vura and #98 Raji Brown surround the Vikings runner for a loss of yards. DSC 5681#44 Austin Ruben breaks through the Viking’s line for a 15 yard gain. DSC 5693#3 Miles Campbell hurls the ball down field for a long completion.
