TROJANS TACKLE PATRIOTS 32-0

The Paulding County Patriots fell to 4-3 in region play as they traveled south to Carrollton and lost to the Trojans on Senior night at Grisham Stadium in front of a large crowd.
The game turned on the opening series as Paulding's Jalen Wright returned the opening kickoff 80 yards and was tackled at the Carrollton 18 yard line. The Patriots moved the ball down to the one-yard line but were turned back on 4th down as Carrollton's defense batted a pass attempt down. The Trojans then took the ball and went 99 yards on their first possession and never looked back taking a 22-0 lead into the locker room at halftime. The Patriots will next host the Raiders of East Paulding for what is, in essence, a playoff game with the winner claiming the #4 seed for the state playoffs.

IMGP5542Patriot Brantley Mauldin dives to the goal line on the opening drive, Mauldin was stopped a half yard shy of the end zone. IMGP5527Patriot defensive end Brenton Ballard makes the stop on the Carrollton runner. IMGP5529Patriot Licquanta Carter tries to ignite some spark to the Patriot ground attack. The Patriots face rival East Paulding Friday night with the winner getting a playoff berth.
