On Tuesday, August 12th, the Paulding County Rotary Club held its 14th Annual Pigskin Preview, a public event held with the purpose of providing all Paulding County high school football coaches with the opportunity to showcase their offseason goals, mindsets, and accomplishments, and recognize 3 players for their outstanding performance during summer practices.
This year, following the introduction of the event by former Rotary Club member and retired PCSD administrator Jason Freeman, and club president Jake Hammitt, each head coach gave a brief speech. These speeches went over offseason mindsets and philosophies, but one thing remained consistent: Hard work, and determination. Each coach made clear that excellence is expected across the board, among students and coaching staff. In attendance was Paulding County Sheriff Ashley Henson, Superintendent Steve Barnette, and a number of other elected officials and board members.
Lunch was served by the Rotary Club, who provided delicious burgers and hot dogs, as well as sides and drinks. The Hiram High School cheerleading team was in attendance, and they greeted all attendees at the door. The event was held at the Dallas Theatre and Civic Center, and was an exciting preview of what’s to come from all of Paulding County’s excellent football programs.
