This award is given in sincere appreciation and recognition for the service and loyalty that these individuals have displayed towards the people of Paulding County. As Emergency Response Officers their duty is to provide help for the community during crisis. These individuals have been recognized by their superiors for providing service far beyond the requirements of the positions they hold.
Our emergency services in Paulding County are always available and stand ready to come when called. As our county is growing in population the demands upon the infrastructure of our local government have never been so great. From our highways to our water system this County is experiencing growing pains like no other. For decades Paulding County has been on his bedroom community, whereby individuals live here and work elsewhere. Unfortunately, this distributes tax resources away from Paulding County. As the number of individuals living in Paulding County has grown, the tax revenue has not grown equally.
Emergency response is provided by a human element that cannot be categorized like many other infrastructure resources. These officers of Fire & Rescue and Law Enforcement are severely overworked and underpaid. As the population grows, the demand grows. These individuals work long hours to save the lives of the people here in our community. They respond to fires, automobile accidents and defend us against crime. And among these individuals we recognize the heroes that give more than what is asked.

First to speak was City of Dallas Police Chief, Scott Halter. Chief Halter presented the award to Cpl. Chris Garmon of the Dallas Police Department. For a upstanding service beyond that which is required through law enforcement.04 Rotary 6 14 2016x800
