Carrollton, GA - In what has become a highly anticipated event, Carroll EMC hosted the fall Agribusiness Seminar on Oct. 24 at the Carroll County Agriculture-Education Center. The bi- annual seminar is known for bringing together individuals and groups in the agricultural community from across the state.
More than 200 farmers, FFA students, associations, business leaders and elected officials were represented and in attendance at the fall seminar. Guest speakers Brenton Credille, Assistant Professor of Beef Production Medicine at the University of Georgia and Gary Kelley, Inspector General of the Georgia Department of Agriculture spoke on the subject of agroterrorism. The speakers, along with Paula Burke, UGA Extension Coordinator, also led a question and answer panel after the presentation.
“The importance of having a seminar on agroterrorism is to educate and teach the public on what agroterrorism is and how to be proactive, not reactive,” said David Huddleston, Carroll EMC Purchasing Manager and agriculture advocate. “These seminars help to bring our community of six counties together as one in the agricultural sector; all to promote and be an advocate for agriculture.”
