PAULDING COUNTY FARM BUREAU’S GRICE A FINALIST FOR STATEWIDE AWARD

Paulding County Farm Bureau Office Manager Tracy Grice was one of three finalists for the Georgia Farm Bureau 2016 Outstanding Office Manager Award, presented during the GFB Convention on Jekyll Island.
Grice, who started work with GFB in 2007, joined PCFB in 2014. As office manager she coordinates all of PCFB’s agricultural outreach efforts, ranging from setting up public events to arranging for volunteers to give presentations in local schools, as well as giving guest lessons herself.
“I love coming up with new and innovative ideas that promote what we do,” Grice said. “I want to be considered a person who you can ask for just about anything and I can either get it for you or know someone who can.” While she assists PCFB agents on insurance activities, she also works to make sure visitors to the PCFB office are aware of the extensive collection of other Farm Bureau benefits that come with the annual membership dues.
“I have never asked Tracy to do anything that she has not gladly completed,” said PCFB President Nora Goodman. “She is a devoted Farm Bureau member and does the job we ask of her and makes us proud.” Grice and her husband Chuck live on a small farm, raising chickens, rabbits and cows.Grice 800
County Farm Bureau office managers coordinate farm advocacy in their counties and assist with management of the county’s GFB insurance business. The other finalists were Denise Loggins of White County and Jeanne Taylor of Bacon County. Taylor was named the state winner.
Founded in 1937, Georgia Farm Bureau is a membership-driven, nonprofit organization dedicated to serving as the voice of Georgia farmers and rural Georgia. GFB, Georgia’s largest farm organization, promotes Georgia commodities and offers legislative representation to ensure Georgia’s farming future. Its volunteer members actively participate in local, state and national activities that promote agriculture awareness to their non-farming neighbors.
GFB membership is open to the public and offers a wide variety of benefits to its members including insurance and discounts for health services, travel and family entertainment. Enrollment in any of the member benefits is optional and not a requirement for membership. Becoming a GFB member helps support local farmers and ensures Georgians continue to have access to locally grown, high-quality food. For more information about GFB membership or to join, visit www.gfb.org.
