Detention Officer Mike Henry Retires From the Sheriff’s Office
(Paulding County, GA) On July 20, 2017 a reception was held at the Sheriff’s Office Detention Center to honor the service of Detention Officer Mike Henry with the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office. Detention Officer Henry retired from the Sheriff’s Office on April 7, 2017 after nearly twenty-eight years of service with the agency. Detention Officer Henry began his career with the Sheriff’s Office on September 21, 1989. During his time at the Sheriff’s Office, Detention Officer Henry worked as a Detention Officer in the Jail. His primary responsibility was to work in and supervise the commissary.
The commissary provides inmates with items that they do not normally get provided by the jail such as snack items, sodas, writing supplies, etc. These items are all purchased by the inmate. Detention Officer Henry was responsible for ordering all of the items available in the commissary and making sure each inmate’s order was correct.
Detention Officer Henry will be sorely missed by his co-workers and friends at the Sheriff’s Office. His hard work and dependability have been a true testament of his character over the years. We hope Detention Officer Henry enjoys his well- deserved retirement from law enforcement.
