Sandy Kaecher Announces Candidacy for Post 2 Commissioner
Dallas, GA, February 12, 2018 – Local small business advocate and insurance agent, Sandy Kaecher, has announced her intent to seek the post 2 commission office. Kaecher believes her experience in small business ownership, as well as her board experience with local non-profits and being a business advocate for the Paulding Chamber will be a welcomed addition to a Board of Commissioners that is struggling to promote Paulding County as being business-friendly.
“I am out in the county daily and travel around the state frequently. The common response I get when revealing that I live in Paulding County is a furrowed brow”, says Kaecher. “Our reputation has been tainted over the past several years as being insular and non-inclusive. When I speak with aspiring business owners and they tell me how much of a struggle it is to open a business in Paulding, it motivated me to want to be a part of the solution”.
Kaecher also points to the current and forthcoming growth that the county is experiencing and notes the opportunities that lie within. “To continue to vilify the new residents of our great county as being part of the problem, rather than welcoming them and bringing them to the table will only further divide our county. The growth is not stopping, so to continue to pander to our residents by romanticizing about days long gone by is making our newest residents feel like they don’t belong in Paulding.”
Kaecher believes that being an advocate for Paulding County outside the county lines will be an important first step in changing the county’s image. Smart growth through revamping the counties practices and procedures in the licensing and permitting departments will make opening a new business in Paulding County smoother and more transparent. Reviewing and, where necessary, updating zoning ordinances, building codes will help ensure that residential zones will not encroach on commercial areas of the county. Finally, showing fiscal restraint with current tax dollars, while working to lure commercial taxpayers to Paulding will be the forefront of her campaign platform.
Kaecher currently is an award-winning AFLAC agent and uses her experience to train others. She is a current board member of the Family Alliance of Paulding, the Paulding Chamber of Commerce, Paulding County Kiwanis and council member for the Paulding Education Foundation.
