GreyStone wins first place award at the NRECA Spotlight on Excellence

The Spotlight on Excellence Awards, a program of the National Rural Electrification Cooperative Association, recognizes outstanding work produced by electric cooperative communicators and marketing professionals. Winners of the 2018 Spotlight on Excellence Awards represent leading practices across all communication platforms. Winners are the best in their field and achieve accomplishments that have a lasting impact, demonstrate a high level of professionalism and delivering exceptional results.
GreyStone Power Public and Member Relations Coordinator Amanda Busby was recognized for her award-winning efforts during the 2018 CONNECT Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah. Busby accepted a Gold Award in the Best Event category for Celebrating a Decade of Savings, a year-long campaign celebrating the tenth anniversary of the Co-op Connections Card (CCC) program at GreyStone. Others assisting with the campaign were department members, Trisha McBee and Ashley Kinnard.
Celebrating a Decade of Savings highlighted all of the aspects of the CCC through three related events - monthly remote visits to a participating business in which the first 10 members to come and show their CCC won a gift from GreyStone; a business appreciation banquet highlighting the inaugural businesses that have been with the program since 2007; and participation from a number of CCC businesses at the GreyStone Power Annual Meeting. These events engaged members to take advantage of the program’s benefits as well as help them realize the added value that membership in their cooperative offers them. Members began requesting and using the card more frequently and more businesses requested to join the program as a result of the challenge given to the participating businesses during the campaign.
After the year-long campaign, Busby’s efforts paid off in more ways than one; she was rewarded with a prestigious award, but most importantly, more members began to use the Co-op Connections Program.
GreyStone Power provides power to our 116,000 members in Paulding, Fulton, Douglas, Cobb, Carroll, Coweta, Fayette, and Bartow counties.
