Lieutenant Darryl Roach Retires From the Sheriff’s Office

(Paulding County, GA) On Thursday, April 28, 2022, Lieutenant Darryl Roach officially retired from the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office. Thankfully, due to loosening COVID-19 restrictions, an official retirement celebration was held at the Sheriff’s Office with Lieutenant Roach’s family, friends, and co-workers.
Lieutenant Roach began his law enforcement career with the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office on November 3, 2008, as a Jailer. Lieutenant Roach quickly worked his way through the ranks where he eventually became a shift supervisor in the Paulding County Jail. During his over 13-year career with the Sheriff’s Office, he served under two different sheriffs.
Lieutenant Roach began his career with the Sheriff’s Office like most, working in our Jail Division. He attended Basic Mandate training at the North Central Georgia Law Enforcement Academy where he graduated and became a Deputy Sheriff. Lieutenant Roach spent his entire career in the Jail Division working in nearly every position at the Jail.
Sheriff Gary Gulledge stated, “Darryl was a hard worker and always enjoyed his job in our Jail Division. He was very knowledgeable about our Jail and he will be sorely missed. Due to some lingering health issues, Darryl had to retire early. I hope he enjoys retirement and gets to relax as much as he wants while spending time with his family.”
Lieutenant Roach’s law enforcement career has spanned over 13 years. During his tenure in law enforcement, he has seen many changes. We want to wish Lieutenant Roach a happy and relaxing retirement. Now he will have plenty of time to enjoy life and spend time with his family.
